Industrial production of materials
for plasterboard suspended ceilings.
HOW WAS “CANALETTO SMART” CREATED?
The Canaletto SMART concept is the result of years of research aimed at developing a system that guarantees the most essential features for suspended ceilings.
Our range of solutions was born from the expertise and needs of our current Technical Manager (a former master craftsman and business owner), who addressed all the challenges encountered during specific installations – challenges that continue to define the art of creating a perfect suspended ceiling to this day.
Driven by these needs, Canaletto SMART Srl, based in Altamura, has launched industrial production using advanced technologies and, in collaboration with various professionals, is able to operate throughout the country.
Today, Canaletto SMART Srl has a company structure that operates with a partnership approach.
Our philosophy is built on experience, expertise, professionalism, teamwork, and innovation. We have patented a standard system designed to ensure that designers, planners, artisans, and retailers can work confidently, without any unexpected issues in appearance or performance once the installation is complete.

Solutions for creating a
perfect suspended ceiling.
The suspended ceiling has become a significant reference point in today’s interior design landscape. It serves several important functions: it enhances the acoustics of a space, effectively conceals technical elements such as wiring and ducts, provides fire protection, and contributes to a more comfortable and visually appealing environment.
For these reasons, the suspended ceiling is an integral element in the construction field and is appreciated by all professionals in the interior finishing sector.
Creating a perfect suspended ceiling requires not only calculating the self-weight and actions to determine the choice of hooks and fixings, as well as the installation of the metal framework, but also relieving the tensions induced by the building or other structural elements of the framework itself.
This involves creating a junction element (a gap) around the perimeter of the suspended ceiling to alleviate the loads between the ceiling and the walls. This process is often challenging for the installer due to limited space and the required working techniques.
The creation of this gap often leads to the most common and difficult issue to resolve, which heavily impacts the aesthetic quality of the suspended ceiling. Cracks often occur at the junction points along the perimeter of the suspended ceiling due to inadequate or overly rigid connections with the walls. This problem cannot be attributed to a lack of professionalism on the part of the installer but rather to the absence of a standardised system specifically designed to address it.
- They align the suspended ceiling with walls that have a textured finish.
- They enhance the aesthetic quality of the suspended ceiling.
- They ensure flexibility at the junction between the wall and suspended ceiling, reducing structural loads
- They provide thermal and acoustic insulation
- They make installation straightforward
